Episode 278 of Why My Toddler is Crying: The Banana

Little man, J, erupts into inconsolable crying as we are driving. 

J: "I wanted a banana from there."

Me: "We are on the way to the grocery store. We don't need a banana from Kwik Trip"

J, through tears: "I want you to turn around."

Me: "I'm not turning around. There is a Kwik Trip by the grocery store if you really want a banana from the gas station. Otherwise, we will buy one from the grocery store."

J: "No. I don't want to go to the grocery store." 

Me: ....

J: still crying...

J, after calming down: "Can we still go to the grocery store?"

Me: "Yes, we are on our way right now."

J: "Ok, thanks."

Happiness restored.
